Dramatic Arts Department PDF Print E-mail

Our drama department is very active at the moment. The learners are busily involved in rehearsing for House Plays (16th March), for which the adjudicator will be acclaimed playwright/actor/director, Colin Ward. It has been heartening to see how the learners have taken on every responsibility for these productions, organising their own auditions and rehearsal schedules.

The studio is busy every day from early in the morning until 5 every evening.

Several learners and staff are involved in other productions as well with robin Williams (Dramatic Arts teacher) directing both The Producers and PE Gilbert and Sullivan’s production of High School Musical! Congratulations to Jade Frankel on being cast in The Producers and Jade, Abigail Molema and Megan Wilkins who are well into the audition process for HSM. Its all down to the Dance Auditions this weekend! Break a leg girls!

Random.com club PDF Print E-mail

This year a ‘new’ club was started for high school learners.  A variety of activities are organized fortnightly on a Monday afternoon.  As the name indicates the  activities are ‘random’ and learners do not have to become permanent members, but can join in ‘randomly’ as what is offered appeals to them.

The aim is to teach new skills and widen learners’ horizons.  So far mini-workshops were run to make gift tags, sew hearts from felt and recently a workshop on food presentation – see photos.

Beading workshops, outings to a gallery and a visit to a ceramicist are planned.
