French Club 2010

On the 17th of February, we celebrated Valentine’s day. We were asked to bring pictures of ‘friendship’ for the club and a colourful card (if we wanted to). When we came into French club, there were pictures on the desk with suckers on top of them. We were all given a number and the rules were as follows:

We each had a chance to chose a picture, starting with the person who had number 1 and ending with the person with the highest number. We also had the chance to ‘steal’ someone else’s picture, however, we were only allowed to take a picture from someone who was no more than 2 numbers ahead of us.

Once we all had our pictures we were given a piece of colourful paper.  Madame taught us how to fold the paper into a heart and we wrote our names on the heart. We gave the heart to ourselves, because before you can love others, you have to love yourself.

We were then given colourful cards and a few French phrases about love and friendship. We all made our cards, using our pictures we chose, and gave them to our loved ones.

Grade 10 Biology Outing to Addo National Elephant Park.
In our grade 10 biology class, we have been learning about the different biomes and so we decided (thanks to Mrs Goodall) to go on an excursion to Addo Elephant Park to learn about the thicket biome.

Our drama department is very active at the moment. The learners are busily involved in rehearsing for House Plays (16^th March), for which the adjudicator will be acclaimed playwright/actor/director, Colin Ward. It has been heartening to see how the learners have taken on every responsibility for these productions, organising their own auditions and rehearsal schedules.

The studio is busy every day from early in the morning until 5 every evening.
