            RASPBERRIES

As I sink my teeth into the soft raspberry
the joy pops and bursts in your mouth
the taste lingers

A pixie's hat, a thimble, so many possibilities
its ruby red colour  entices your senses

its bitter sweet smell makes your tummy rumble
the cool red raspberry caresses your mind.

              ANGRY APPLE

Walkin down the Spar
I spotted it from afar
A juicy red apple, out of a dull pack of seven
Shining so bright, as if brought straight down from heaven.
Now the apple was in the packet
Finally I had got it
Now at my home it would stay,
and in the kitchen basket it lay.
When I thought things couldn't get better
This juicy red apple got even redder
So today I did decide
I would dig my teeth inside.
I held it warm in both hands
As the water droplets trickled in the sands
I took one huge bite, juice spilled everywhere
Splashes and spits flung in the air
Sweet at first and then sour
crunch, munch in my mouth for about an hour.
My gums are sore; can't swallow my spit
But it doesn't matter, it was worth it!

           MULBERRIES

      Red and black
filled with exploding
      juices
birds nesting high above
      in its tree
collecting its berries for
stew and squirrels too.

Bags of juice cling
tightly to its stem
     with all its might
Its branches bending from
     the deer that picks

Colouring our lips as
we eat it. The luscious juices
make our mouth water
an artist's paint being
splatted onto its blinding
white page it erupts.

Our wondering thoughts of
nature's recipe to make it so sweet;
it tangles over the mellow forest
waiting for its next customer
to come and try its delicious treat;
Smell of damp dew; come try, come eat.
