Creative Writing - The magic box
A long time ago there was a very poor woman who was called Nomsa and she lived in New York. She lost her husband in a terrible fire and now lives with her two daughters in a shack.One day she was busy hanging her washing on the line when one of her daughters ,Priscilla, came running out of the shack saying she had found a magic box. Priscilla told Nomsa that you had to tap the top of the box twice and wish for anything. When Nomsa heard that she grabbed the box and went into her room and asked not to be disturbed. Nomsa wished that they were rich and lived in a big house. Then she wished she was the queen of the world and started making up new rules. One of her rules was if you walked down the street without shoes on you would get sent to jail. Because she made up all these rules and lots of people there were no more people in the shops. Everybody started hating her because she was greedy. All the people who were not in jail got together and decided on a plan they were going to steal the magic box. One night they sent out one person to spy on her and find out how the box worked. The next night the same person sneaked through the window and stole the magic box. The people wished that her hair turned green! The next morning when she woke up she started screaming and ran around in circles then she remembered about the magic box but she could not find it. She decided to go to the hair dresser. So she got into her car but as she got in they wished that all her cars went backward instead of foreword. So she had to reverse down the street to get to the hair dresser. But when she got there she remembered that she sent all the hair dressers to jail. The people wished that all the people in jail were free and that Nomsa was in jail. As for her two daughters they went on living there lives as ordinary people. The box was kept in a safe with the two daughters where they use it only when they have to. The End
