The Grade 5's made Shaduf's for an intergrated History and Technology Project. The Shaduf's had to be stable and strengthened using guy's, struts and triangulation.

They worked in groups of 3's and all construction took place at school.

What would happen if we ran out of water in Port Elizabeth?

It would be a disaster. We wouldn't be able to bath or shower and would have no drinking water. We wouldn't be able to keep ourselves clean by washing our hands and brushing our teeth. We could pevent it, but it would cost lots of money. We could import snow or import cacti but that would only be temporary. We would obviously have to move to another city or country that has more water, but eventually that place would run out of water and we'd have to move to another place but then they'd run out of water too! At the moment there is a certain amount of water allowed per house and we realise how much we really need water, but before we took advantage of water and used too much of it, leading us to a dead end!

MAGIC   GUITAR

Once there was a little girl named Sally. Sally played the guitar but little did she know it was a magic guitar and that guitar granted 3 wishes. One day Sally was practising her guitar she stopped and looked at the back of her guitar and it said: play a little song a little song just for me and I shall grant you 3 wishes and that song shall be TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR. And so she did exactly that. After she had played the song a genie appeared in front of her. The genie said what are your 3 wishes I wish for a million rand a million rand appeared next to her in a case I am rich 2 wishes to go I wish for a laptop 1 wish to I wish for a mansion.

    Once upon a time there was a man named Peter. He had three daughters, two sons and a wife named Lisa. His wife was very sick, but because he was poor he could not buy any medicine. Peter lived in the dump of the city. He would look through rubbish all day and night to try and find some money. One day he found something very strange. He found a book, it was strange because it looked valuable and he tried to think why anyone would throw it away. He opened the first page and saw a warning sign that said “DO NOT OPEN” in bold, red writing. Ignoring the warning he opened the book onto the 2nd page and read the 1st sentence and immediately after the book started shaking, then the earth started shaking and finely he started shaking. Then a shape started to form, it was an odd, confusing shape. It was a genie! Before the genie saw him he dived behind a destroyed car. He did not want the genie to see him because he thought all genies were evil. The genie was very big and looked as strong as an ox. Peter thought of all the stories he heard about genies. He was very scared about the magical genie. He did not know if the genie was angry or happy. By the time he figured out what he was going to do, the genie had disappeared. Then suddenly he felt a brush on his back when he turned around he saw the genie! Peter was very scared and gave a loud shriek of fear, and asked if the genie could please spare his life. The genie laughed and said to Peter that he was a good genie, and told him not to be scared of him. Then he said that he would give Peter 3 wishes. Peter was so relieved that he hugged the genie. Peter 1st wished for a very big house. His 2nd wish was a huge bucket of gold. Just when he was going to wish for a fancy car he remembered his sick wife and wished for a cure to her disease. All 3 wishes came true and Peter was so glad. He then made best friends with the genie. Peter’s family were all healthy and wealthy and lived happily ever after.  THE END  By: Dolapo Adeyemi        Gr. 5

Once upon a time there was a boy. His name was Jack. He was good and kind, but poor. He liked to play with his favourite ball. One day he was playing with his ball and it popped and he was said. Then he went to the river and saw a ball, took it and played with it and the ball turned into a ball with legs with shoes on and arms, a hat, two guns, a mouth and two eyes. He greeted Jack and said my name is Sheriff Ball. He also said some call me Sheriff and some call me Ball. He said to Jack you can call me sheriff. Jack sad my name is Jack. He said to Jack do you want to play with me. Yes please Jack and they played. THE END OR IS IT?DONE BY: Hamza Murtaza.

One day in the sea a fish was very hungry his name is Mr Spells. So Mr Spells went to the cafe to have something to eat. He sat down and he got some chips and a salad and a milkshake and by the way Mr Spells was a wizard. Mr Spells paid the bill and went to the wand shop and bought a new red wand then he went home. Then he sat down and looked at his wand and suddenly a blue magic fish said he could have 3 wishes he was so exited he jumped up and down so he said his first wish and it was to hav e a new wizard coat and he got it then he wished he had a new spell book he was so happy. His last wish was he had a new wizard hat and it had stars on it. Then the blue magic fish suddenly disappeared in to thin air then he looked at his new hat, book and coat and he has been happy ever since.    Done by: Susanna Kilbride

The Magic HatOnce there was a Boy who was very smart but very poor.He had 2 sisters and a mom and dad who was very sick.One day the boy went to an antique shop.He had been saving up all month so he went inside.He looked for hours and didn’t find anything but as he was about to leave he saw a hat with beautiful patterns on it so he bought it with all his savings.When he got home and was in his room he put the hat on and suddenly smoke and strange noises came out the hat and a Genie appeared.It was the size of a mouse. The little boy gasped at the tiny genie and didn’t know what to say ‘’I shall grant you 3 wishes’’ The boy stopped for a minute and then replied 3 wishes are you serious I can’t believe it is impossible.So the boy thought of what he could wish for and he said that he wished for a thousand gold coins so his family would not be poor and suddenly a thousand gold coins appeared in the hat the boy was astonished.He then wished for a puppy and once again the thing that he wished for appeared in the hat and he couldn’t believe what he saw before his eyes.So for the last one he thought very hard and in the end he said that he wished for his father to be cured and in the hat medicine appeared the boy grabbed the medicine and rushed down stairs to give it to his father it was a miracle his father was cured.After that day the boy and his family were wealthy and happy
