During the Third term the Gr 3's were encouraged to develop not only their Maths and Money Management skills, but also their social conscience, too.  The Gr 3's were involved in doing chores and odd jobs throughout the holiday, and term, to raise funds for the House Of Resurrection Aids Orphanage.  With the money raised at the Coffee Shop that they ran at the end of term, plus monies raised from errands, the children then bought gifts for the children afflicted by HIV and Aids.

Matron Agnes Bower from the haven attended a special assembly to accept the gifts and money raised by the children.

We would like to thank our parents for supporting this project; for opening up, not only their hearts, but also their pockets, and for encouraging their children in these ideals.  Thank you, parents for helping to teach our children that, with priviledge, comes a social awareness, and a sense of moral obligation, too.

To the Gr 3's;  well done, we always knew that you were not only smart, but generous and kind too!
